Abstract

The Lenovo ThinkSystem SR635 V3 has set a new one-processor performance world record on Linux for the SPECpower_ssj 2008 benchmark.

This document summarizes the SPECpower_ssj 2008 benchmark result for the ThinkSystem SR635 V3 that was published on July 1, 2023. The document lists the result, summarizes the major components of the configuration under test, and provides the link to the relevant benchmark organization’s web site for details about the result.

Introduction

Lenovo has published a new SPECpower_ssj 2008 benchmark result that has set a new world record. The result has been achieved on the powerful Lenovo ThinkSystem SR635 V3 server using the new AMD EPYC 9754 processor.

The world-record benchmark result is:

  • Best score on a 1-processor, 1U rack system running Linux

Lenovo ThinkSystem SR635 V3The SPECpower_ssj 2008 benchmark is an industry-standard benchmark that evaluates the power and performance characteristics of single servers and multi-node servers.

The ThinkSystem SR635 V3 server achieved the following score :

  • SPECpower_ssj2008 = 30,939 overall ssj_ops/watt

The SR635 V3 was configured as follows:

  • 1x AMD EPYC 9754 ("Bergamo") processor (128 cores, 2.25 GHz, 256 MB L3 cache)
  • 192 GB of DDR5 memory
  • 1x 240GB M.2 SSD
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP4
  • Oracle Java HotSpot 64-Bit Server VM 18.9 (build 11.0.15.1+2-LTS-10, mixed mode)
